National Fund for Municipal Workers

January 2017

NFMW greetings

This is our first edition for 2017 and we are excited about what the new year has in store for the NFMW.

Fund members would have received their Annual reports and Benefit statements by now. The next benefit statements will be posted, with the member newsletter  during the month of March. Remember the only way we can communicate effectively is by having members' updated contact details on record. Please contact us if your details have changed, or click here to submit the updated information.

Enjoy reading and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or require assistance with fund related matters.

Kind regards

Sean Samons Principal Executive Officer

Frequently asked Q and A

Q: Can I make a loan against my fund credit?
A: The fund issues surety for up to 60% of your fund credit, for  non-mortgage home loans through a specific financial institution, currently RFS Home loans. The loan must be used for housing purposes i.e. renovations to your existing property, transfer fees or purchasing a property. You will be required to complete the application form, and attach all the supporting documents. The completed application form with the supporting documents can be submitted directly to RFS Home loans by fax to (012) 523 5560 or e-mailed to info@rfsolutions.co.za.

Please note that the loan is subject to approval in terms of the National Credit Act, which means a credit and affordability check will be performed to determine whether you qualify.
